I'm Joakim Bengtsson, an independent IT consultant with over 20 years of experience, nearly a decade of it in financial technology. Most of my work is hands-on — I write the software and set up the infrastructure myself, whether that's a new system from scratch, a modernized older platform, or a smoother way for a team to ship changes.
Earlier in my career I was in the games industry, on console and mobile titles — gameplay, graphics, AI, and backend systems. That shaped how I think about performance and real-time systems, which still carries into the reliability-critical work I do today.
Because it's just me, you deal directly with the person doing the work — but I slot into your team, alongside your engineers and your existing process. Based in Singapore, I work with clients internationally.
